Ms. Lisa Migliaccio - Principal

Lisa Migliaccio favorite thing about Melvindale is the closeness of the community and the staff’s dedication to the students and families in the schools. Migliaccio herself has dedicated her entire career to education.
A Southgate Public Schools graduate, Migliaccio’s favorite subjects during her own school days were English and Biology.
Through her school days, Migliaccio was a member of the figure skating and softball teams and her favorite memories include being Student Council President her senior year and being on the Homecoming Court. Her favorite teacher was Mrs. Dunaway who she says was kind, fair and allowed students to have choices.

When it came time for her own choices, Migliaccio settled on Wayne State University for her undergrad education where she studied Elementary Education. She later returned to Wayne State for a Masters in Reading.
Migliaccio spent almost a decade in the classroom teaching four years of 5th grade and then five and a half years as a reading recovery teaching before becoming the Rogers Early Elementary Principal where she has been for the last 15 years. Outside of the classroom, Migliaccio coached volleyball for four seasons.
When she is not at work, Migliaccio enjoys golfing, working out, traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with loved ones.
