Mrs. Jacklyn Melton

Hello!  My name is Jackie Melton and I am a Kindergarten teacher here at Rogers Early Elementary.  During my 19 years of teaching I have taught Kindergarten, Preschool and Reading Recovery.  Working with and advocating for young learners is my passion.  I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood Education and Mathematics.  I continued my education by earning a Masters of Educational Administration degree from the University of Michigan.  Go Blue!

 

When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family and friends.  I have been married for 9 years to my husband, Jim.  We have one amazing seven year old son named Ryan and two very large dogs named Howie and Katie that complete our family.  Each evening you can find us either on a baseball field, lacrosse field, or inside a hockey rink cheering on Ryan!  Between school, work and play we are a busy family, but I wouldn't want it any other way.  

 

I am very excited to meet all of the children and families that I will have the joy of working with this year.  I look forward to the time we will spend together, the fun we will have, and the memories we will make.  Welcome to our Roger's family!
